"VBS is always a reward to those that help.....seeing children, some for the first time, learn about Jesus is a blessing and a joy!" - Mike Gooch

Vacation Bible School is normally a week-long event during the summer offering stories, music, crafts, snacks, and games. This year's theme was The Big Apple Adventure. It was only three days long but it was fast & fun packed. Although we only had a couple of dozen children join us, we, the children, and some great volunteers from First Baptist Church of Lyman Mississippi had a fantastic time. The New York sets and experiences made everyone come alive with that City That Never Sleeps' energy and God’s Word came alive with new meaning for all who participated!

This year's VBS was coordinated and directed by our Children's Director, Ms. Debbie Nicholson but we of course could not have pulled this one off without First Baptist Lyman's help. We owe them enormous thanks for stepping in and supporting us as our HBC Workers were too few in number to do it on our own this year. FBC Lyman's Youth Director, Conrad Meadows was their Main Man in working with us and our previous Minister of Music, Lewis White was key in some of the coordinating. Despite the usual challenges preparing for this years event we all had a great and Godly time learning about God's Love for us all. Check out Lyman's web site if you live or will be moving to that area of the coast. They are a great bunch of folks and they would welcome anyone looking to worship and serve our Lord and Savior.
