“We have a good blend of young people and older adults. When you’re absent, you are missed and welcomed back.” - Dr. George Harrison

Our Declaration of Independence declares that we have been endowed with "certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. ” As Americans we take this statement seriously, and many people have the desire in life to be “happy.”
In the Bible the word translated as “happy” is also translated as “blessed,” and the place in the Bible where most of us would recognize this word is in the Beatitudes of Matthew 5:3-11 where Jesus listed some characteristics that lead to true happiness. An example of what these verses say is found in verse nine from the New Living Translation which states, “Blessed (happy) are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Our Church's Purpose Statement, adopted On 11 May 2005, states that: “We seek to be Intentional Christians, Touching the Coast for Christ, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit; to fulfill Christ's call to bring people to our Lord and Savior, to baptize, to disciple the Saints, to worship, to fellowship, and to support missions throughout the world.” |
